Yaiza is the whole of Lanzarote wrapped into one. Beaches, volcanic landscape, verdant vineyards, and a dramatic nature reserve, it has little of everything that makes up a great holiday destination. Accompanied by a year-round fantastic weather and wonderful international amenities, it is one of the major tourist places in Lanzarote, attracting close to million visitors every year!
Yaiza is located close to Lanzarote’s major beach resorts: Costa Teguise, Playa Blanca and Playa del Carmen, and the peaceful beach of Papagoya.
The majority of beaches in Costa Teguise is very clean and well maintained, and is lined with a number of seafront hotels and apartments that provide direct access to the beach. All accommodations are competitively priced, and from expensive swanky hotels and luxury villas to low-priced elegant apartments and humble cottages, it provides something to suit all budgets. Costa Teguise’s five-star golf course is the best in Lanzarote.
Playa Blanca is younger than most other tourist resorts in Lanzarote. Accommodation comes fairly expensive, and much of lodging facilities are provided by private villas. There are several of these villas around the edge of the main town, which are great for people who like seclusion, and the beach to themselves. There are also many high-quality villas along the main beach, including some comfortably priced hotels and apartments on the beach road and further inland.
Puerto del Carmen is Lanzarote’s longest established resort and is considered the biggest and liveliest resort on the island. The resort stretches along a 6km long beach, on Lanzarote’s southern coastline. Puerto del Carmen beaches are the hub of families and groups of holidaymakers. Most hotels will provide water sport gear for fishing, diving, windsurfing, snorkeling, and hoards of other beach and water activities.
