Xemxija Getting there and around

Xemxija is a just 30-minute car ride from Malta’s capital Valletta. Malta is well-connected with cities in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. Malta’s only international airport at Luqa is located just 11 miles from Xemxija. Malta is connected with many European cities by sea, such as Catania, Pozzallo, Marseille, Salerno, Rome, Palermo, Genoa, and Tunis. It makes Xemxija easily reachable by sea. The Yacht Marina of Xemxija is being now developed to accommodate big luxury cruises.
Xemxija is served by Malta’s old-fashioned public bus system, which has a fleet of 1950s-era buses. These buses are adorned with glazed cotton fabric and biblical Christian saints. Taxis in Xemxija are another convenient means to explore the surrounding area. One can rent a bike and tour the town.
