
Almost all the main attractions in Vinci are directly or indirectly related to Leonardo. But, come to think of it, most of the tourists that come to Vinci are anyways interested in knowing more about the famous versatile renaissance artiste-Leonardo. Casa Di Leonardo is the small farmhouse located at 3 kms from the centre of the town. Leonardo’s house has various replicas of his outstanding work as all his original artefacts have already been moved to museums. Out of the various museums that Vinci houses, Leonardo Di Vinci ideal museum can actually be considered as an ideal museum representing the original works of the famous artist. Museum was formed in 1953, by various artiste and scholars. In addition to original artefacts, the museum also has reproductions of Leonardo’s famous artworks and the biographical events of his life. There is another famous museum called Museo Leanardino that is holed up inside Guidi Castle. This museum consists of wide array of Leonardo’s workings such as his model inventions, machines, artworks etc. In addition, the museum also has some astounding audio and videos featuring the documentaries of the famous artiste.
Apart from museum, Vinci also houses a very beautiful church called as Holy Cross church which was built during the medieval period. The holy cross church (also called as Chiesa Di Santa Croce) consists of some very marvellous works by the local artists and is a beautified visual from inside too. There are various fairs held in Vinci during the month of July which apart from its fun activities also displays some amazing fireworks as well. Whereas, if you are planning to visit Vinci during summer, you could also take part in various fete/events organised in the surrounding towns which would have food, games, music, fireworks and all.
