Taba shares its border with Israel and can be entered from Eilat, Israel, via the Taba Border crossing; the drive usually takes just 1 hour. Although most tourists walk to the Egyptian side and then hire taxis to the coastal town, you could also drive from Israel if you own an Israeli vehicle and passport. On entering Egypt, you would then be receiving a free Sinai permit, valid for 14 days in Sinai.
Since 2005, the Taba Heights International Marina located 20km south of Taba, has been serving yachts and boats on their gateway to Egypt. If you are in Aqaba, Jordon, you could take the ferry to Taba.
The Taba International Airport handles weekly chartered flights from the United Kingdom - Monarch Airlines from London-Gatwick, Thomson Airways and First Choice from London-Gatwick and Manchester. It also serves flights from Belgium, Germany, Holland, France, Ukraine and the Czech Republic making Taba easily accessible from nearby European countries. The national career EgyptAir has unfortunately stopped flight services to Taba. If you are in Cairo, your best alternative is to drive (5 hours), or take the bus from Cairo’s main bus station to Taba.
