Southern Cyprus brims with many excellent resorts, most of which can be found on the west coast of Cyprus. Popular resorts include the harbor town of Paphos, the resorts of Ayia Napa, Coral Bay, Protoras and Pissouri, the hilly village of Peyia and smaller authentic villages of Polis and Latchi, and the coastal towns of Lemesos (Limassol) and Larnaca. Nikosia is the old historic quarter of Southern Cyprus, also the capital and a frequented vacation destination.
