Sliema Holidays

Sliema is located directly towards the northern side of the Capital of Malta- Valletta. Sliema has taken its name from the Maltese word Sliem which means “peace”. There are about 20000 people residing in Sliema.
Sliema boasts of a walkway that stretches 5 km along the tower road and moves towards the St Julian’s resort. Sliema is a famous destination amongst holidaymakers due the rocky beaches, up-market restaurants and water sport activities. It was a small fishing town; however, due to its fast development, Sliema now is most visited by Maltese and Europeans. It is one of the main costal resorts of Malta and has developed very fast in the recent past.
Sliema has the maximum number of apartments and hotels, offering you a lot of new and upscale organisations.

The lovely resort of Sliema offers rocky beaches all along the coastline of Sliema, providing you with plenty of flat rocks for sunbathing. The lovely blue waters are perfect for water sports.
Even though there are no sandy beaches in Sliema, you can still find a lot of Lidos offering sun beds, umbrellas, showers and refreshments.
The restaurants in the Sliema offer a variety of cuisines from Chinese to Russian. The cafes and the bars are always packed with crowds. Also, Sliema is famous for its shopping; it offers you the best of expensive boutiques and shops.
You can also enjoy activities like hiking, cycling, ice-skating, tennis and squash.

General Etiquettes

You can tip your taxi drivers 10%, however, in bars; the tip is not expected till the time hostess takes your order. Also in restaurants, you can tip up to 15% as the tip is generally not included in the bill.
