Puerto Santiago has a small, but nice beach. Blessed by year-round warm sunshine, the beach is perfect for sunbathing, and since it’s also uncrowded, ideal for those looking for solitude. The beach comes equipped with water sport facilities, including a diving school that instructs on scuba diving near the cliffs of Los Gigantes. Located 30 minutes from Puerto Santiago are some of Tenerife’s finest golf courses. You can also enjoy squash, tennis and bowling in between soaking the sun on the beach. Los Gigantes is a few minutes from Puerto Santiago, as is the Blue Flag Playa de la Arena. A day-trip to these resorts is worth your time.

Puerto Santiago is good, but not ideal for family holidays. The Puerto Santiago beach is covered with black, volcanic sand which is course and pebbled. So, young children will find little to do on the beach sans mounds of superfine sand. Also, although games like volleyball, football and cricket can be enjoyed, the lack of an action-packed nightlife fails to draw young adults. Come to Puerto Santiago only if you wish to spend a refreshing holiday and spend time with yourself or spouse before returning to a mundane life in the city.
