The main attraction of Port Richey is the recently opened Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park. It has a 320 feet deep saltwater spring, which is not easily accessible. The park protects four miles of Pasco County's coastal waters on the Gulf of Mexico. If you love outdoor activities the Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park has a lot of activities to offer. These include boating, fishing, hiking and picnicking. The park has 150 species of birds and wildlife like gopher tortoises, West Indian manatees and alligators. Lot of migratory birds also inhabit this park.
One can also lie on the beach and enjoy the view of the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico and of course the lakes and rivers. You can also trek on a nature trail which extends almost one kilometre. The park also has waterways which can be explored by boat.
Anyone interested in fishing can visit the Millers Bayou Lake after consulting local guides and resources before heading out to fish. One can also visit Rocky Creek which is a natural stream.
The Spongeorama Cruise Lines in Port Richey offers Sightseeing cruise of the Natural and Historic site along with Dolphins and Manatees. The Konger Tarpon Springs Aquarium is the most exciting marine attractions here. This spectacular living reef and aquarium is home to over 30 species of fish and visitors can enjoy live daily shows and feedings.
The Timber Oaks Golf Club is a very popular golf course in the area. The flat terrain makes this an easy course to walk. The Golf course has three water hazards on the front nine and three on the back nine.
