
Port Charlotte is nestled in Charlotte Harbour. Its major attraction is cruises it offers through the harbour. There are sailboat races on weekends. You can also rent jet skis or a boat or swim in the harbour. Fishing tournaments are common here.
Port Charlotte has lot of parks. The Kidstar Park is an amazing place to visit. The park offers Go-carting, rock climbing and children ride. If you love ice creams, don’t miss the best soft serve ice-cream shop here. Another park here is the Port Charlotte Beach Park which has a swimming pool, a volleyball and basket ball court. It also has a boat ramp, a beach, a fishing pier and canoeing. There is separate children playground here.
Miniature Golf is another activity that Port Charlotte offers. The Fish Cove Adventure Golf course is set in a beautiful location, overlooking the Charlotte harbour. This 36 hole miniature Gold course attracts both children and adults. If you are a golf enthusiast, the Riverwood Golf Club is the place to be. The Golf course is surrounded by lush landscaping and native vegetation. This is an 18 hole, par 72 golf course set in beautiful surroundings, which offers a challenge on every hole. Another Golf course is the Maple Leaf Golf & Country Club. This Golf course is one of the most challenging executive golf courses in Florida. This 18 hole, par 62, golf course has 12 lakes and 41 sand traps. If you like bowling, Port Charlotte also has a 24 lane bowling centre called Bowland.
Tourists visiting Port Charlotte during October to April can listen to the concert of the Charlotte County Concert band. The band plays selections from Broadway shows and also vocal and instrumental music. El Jobean Post Office and General Store is a historic landmark. It has been converted into a museum and depicts the history of Southwest Florida. Bean Depot Café, situated in El Jobean’s historic train depot is famous for jam sessions.

For shopaholics, Port Charlotte Town Centre offers stores which include, JCPenney, Macy*s and Sears, There are around 100 stores and 16-screen cinemas in this Mall. Fishermen’s Village plaza in Punta Gorda, offers an array of restaurants, boutiques and superb dining. The Harbour Inn Antique Mall & Tea Room is famous for art pottery, dolls, furniture and lots more. The historic shopping area at Dearborn Street has shops which display apparels for men and women, jewellery, candles, artwork, antiques, pottery and musical instruments.
