In Playa del Ingles, as with the rest of the Canarian seaside resorts, the local Canarian food consists of grilled fish, salad and chips. Canarians don’t serve oven cooked food and most meat preparations are either grilled or pan fried. The wrinkled potato is frequently served, in boiled, mashed or fried variants of the same. Vegetables are an important part of the Canarian cuisine, and most dishes will be served with a small side salad.
There are plenty of international cuisine restaurants in Playa del Ingles. A vide variety of European dishes can be found, as also a large number of English style bars and pubs. There are also a couple of very good eat-outs serving Asian cuisine.
The quality of food in Playa del Ingles varies enormously. You can be assured of excellent tastes in most upscale and moderately priced restaurants, but if you avoid the restaurants with pictures of dishes by the menu, or the ones in which waiters persuade you in, there are less chances of being disappointed.
