Playa Blanca Hotels

Until recently, Playa Blanca was a humble fishing village, somewhat isolated at the southern most end of Lanzarote. Fortunately for its already existing bustling port providing ferry services to Fuerteventura, it quickly attracted the attention of international investors, and today is one of the most populous beach resorts in Lanzarote.

Playa Blanca is younger than most other tourist resorts in Lanzarote, and for most part of the year, sees extensive construction work. Despite attracting thousands of tourists every year, Playa Blanca is still the quietest of the three major resorts in Lanzarote (Puerto del Carmen and Costa Teguise are two other major resorts). Still developing, it leaves enough secluded beaches for vacationers who like a little peace and quiet.

Playa Blanca accommodation comes fairly expensive, and much of lodging facilities are provided by private villas.  There are several of these villas around the edge of the main town, which are great for people who like the hermit’s life, and the beach to themselves. There are also many high-quality villas along the main beach, including some comfortably priced hotels and apartments on the beach road and further inland.

Playa Blanca has a beautiful beach that has been awarded the EU Blue Flag award. The nearby beaches of Playa Flamingo, Playa Dorado, and Papagayo area equally amazing and provide a large number of accommodation options.

Playa Blanca’s town is still largely unspoiled and seems to have given up careless commercialization. A nice collection of bars and restaurants populate the town area and the new marina, offering a pleasant alternative to the beaches.
