Playa Amadores’ beautiful Blue Flag beach is the hub of majority tourist activities. Besides having an excellent romantic setting, it has 2 massive breakwaters against the powerful waves and swell of the Atlantic. This makes the waters extremely safe for swimming, so it comes as little surprise that Playa Amadores is a favorite with families with young children.

The Playa Amadores beach is very clean and well maintained. The wide swathe of pale golden sand is fringed by tropical palms, and bordered by a lively promenade. The promenade houses few excellent hotels and apartments. Farther from the beach, there is a wide choice of moderate to budget stays. The beach promenade also has some excellent seafood restaurants, open bars, quaint cafes and few shops. Inland, from the beach, you will come across several more restaurants and bars and two big shopping centers: Paraiso Amadores and the Playa Amadores Shopping Centre.

Luxury beachside hotels generally provide direct access to the Playa Amadores beach; most others are located a few minutes away. If you are staying at a 4-star hotel, you will probably get gear for jet-skiing, parascending and scuba diving from your hotel. Your hotel will also provide you sun-loungers or sun-decks to enjoy on the beach or by the hotel swimming pool. At other times, you can hire water sport gear from the rental shops along the beach.

4kms north of Playa Amadores lies Puerto de Mogán resort; 10kms to the south is the resort of Maspalomas. Also, Puerto Rico is just next door Playa Amadores for those who prefer a wider range of accommodation options.
