Patalavaca, located on the south-west coast of Gran Canaria, enjoys gorgeous warm weather throughout the year. Patalavaca summers are popular with tourists, but the majority of holidaymakers visit Patalavaca during Christmas and New Year. At most other times (spring and autumn), the beaches are sparsely crowded; perfect if you want the beach to yourself.

Patalavaca sits between the bustling resort of Puerto Rico and the Arguineguin fishing harbor. Even at its most crowded, it is still far less populated and much quieter than the buzzing Puerto Rico. However, Patalavaca’s near proximity to the bigger resort makes it popular with vacationers who seek a combination of isolated holiday destinations within easy reach of commercial centres.

Patalavaca is one of Gran Canaria’s youngest resorts and offers visitors more than just a nice sandy beach. Patalavaca is ideally placed near the manmade Anfi beach and the Anfi Tauro golf resort. Those hoping to practice their swing under the winter sun are well placed in Patalavaca.

Patalavaca beach includes an attractive promenade with the choicest 4 and 3 star hotels, villas and apartments. Plenty of restaurants and leisure bars can also be found lining the beach. Patalavaca nightlife is unhurried and laidback. Most hotels provide their own brand of family-oriented entertainment, but if you decide for some lively action, ample nightclubs, bars and cafes can be found at the Puerto Rico resort.

Patalavaca beach invites little activity and more of relaxation, however there are plenty of water sport facilities to be found here. Most hotels will provide sun-beds and sports gear. You can also rent from the few rental shops along the beach.
