Nuweiba is the one of the less developed beach resorts in Egypt. Until the 1980s, it was mostly visited by independent travelers seeking a little peace and quiet midst tranquil surroundings. Not long before however, investors discovered it as a prospective Red Sea tourist destination, and started rapid commercialization of the place. Still, in comparison to the more popular and crowded beaches of Hurghada or Sharm el-Sheikh, Nuweiba beaches have managed to retain a unique, virginal beauty, and although there’s plenty to do on and under water and around the desert, Nuweiba’s beauty is mostly the sole determinant of its attraction.
It is this beauty and pureness of Nuweiba’s beaches that make it the ideal place for relaxation. Famous for its colorful reefs, snorkeling and diving opportunities, and exciting adventure safaris into the stunning Sinai desert, Nuweiba is a spectacular holiday destination for families, groups of friends, and honeymooners. Whether you prefer world-class amenities or choose to stay in a budget hotel, Nuweiba has much to offer.
The majority of resorts, hotels, and restaurants are concentrated in the Nuweiba Tarabin and The Dunes areas. Nuweiba town has several spectacular accommodations too, including good shopping areas, bars and restaurants. Resort restaurants are especially good with their Oriental and Egyptian seafood cuisines.
A number of campsites can also be found along the beach, between Taba and Nuweiba. Camps are like small villages by the sea, with mostly cabin and bungalow styled accommodations, generally great for relaxation, and intimate pleasures. The beach and shallow waters are also idyllic for families, especially children. Camp restaurants serve seafood delicacies, including American staples like burgers, pancakes, pizzas, etc.
