Nicosia is one of the less touristy holiday destinations of Cyprus. The town can be divided into two distinct halves: the old quarter and the modern resort town. The modern part of Nicosia has the majority of dining options, including some of Cyprus’ best restaurants. It also has plenty of stylish boutiques, shopping arcades and daily markets. Around the old quarter areas, you are likely to stumble upon several traditional taverns, friendly cafes and welcoming local restaurants. Particularly around the harbor area, there are a couple of excellent seafood restaurants. There are also several trendy clubs and discos around places like Eleftheria Street, Laiki and Ytonia, including the west of Nicosia.
Dining specialties in Nicosia vary from local Cypriot and Turkish cuisines to Indian, Chinese, Italian, French, British, and Mediterranean cuisines. Food choices vary, as do their prices. No matter what your budget, Nicosia has an eatery to appease your hunger.
