With dancing bubbles winking on the brim of your glass, relax in Italy for your 2011 holidays. The famous Italian sparkling wine comes from a lush green valley just north of the romantic city of Venice. There are many B&Bs in this region that are surrounded by vineyards where you can have a blissful time in your 2011 holiday. The local trattorie is a must visit for relishing that special fizz and the real countryside flavours of Italy.

The presecco wine is one of the most popular sparkling wines that are produced in Italy. Actually, presecco is the name of the grape that is cultivated between the towns of Valdobbiadene and Conegliano till up to Vittorio Veneto. For a unique Italian holiday experience in 2011, you could drive across this verdant region to enjoy wine tastings in the villages, staying at cosy B&Bs that are often run by winemakers themselves and exploring the local cuisine in rural trattorie and osterie.

Bar Alpino
The perfect starting point for your trip through the vineyards is the eight-decades-old Bar Alpino at Valdobbiadene. The chic wine bar stocks over 50 varieties of presecco wines that can be enjoyed by the glass. The ambience is warm and the food traditional at its best. Roast suckling pig and polpettine meatballs are the highlights that one must have during their 2011 Italy holiday.

Osteria Senz’Oste
This is an offbeat osteria that doesn’t really have a host! The great locales add to the wonderful experience of serving presecco to yourself from the fridge, in addition to gorging on the lovely hams, cheeses, eggs and bread. And curiously enough, you drop the payment in a wooden box kept for the purpose which actually works for the owner is a salami maker from a village nearby. If you choose to be here for your countryside break in Italy in 2011, do remember to ask for directions to reach Osteria Senz’Oste for it is quite difficult to find with no signposts!

Vigne Matte
The village cantina at the hamlet of Rolle sits atop a hill that offers spectacular views of the beautiful countryside. Vigne Matte offers an array of presecco wines along with other whites and even reds – so the tasting takes quite a while. If you happen to be here for your Italy holidays in 2011, then also pay a visit to the Locanda Al Monastero di Rolle down the village where the traditional tagliere is served every Sunday evening. For those who do not have an idea, this is a local speciality with a wooden plate full of grilled veggies, cold cuts, hot polenta and cheeses.

Relais Dolce Vita
Famous for selling high-quality presecco all over the world, the Bisol family runs the B&B Relais Dolce Vita overlooking Santo Stefano. The dreamy surroundings make for a great companion if you choose to stay for your 2011 holidays at the luxurious farmhouse. The spacious guest rooms, well-tended garden and outdoor Jacuzzi amidst vines are highlights of Relais Dolce Vita.

Trattoria Ristoro Fos de Marai
Although not very attractive from the outside, this Trattoria features a cool outdoor dining area with vineyards all around it. Must tries for your 2011 holiday include spaghetti with wild boar ragu, raddichio and fennel with olive oil/ vinegar, melt-in-the-mouth pork chops and delicious grilled sausages.
