Vibrant New Port Richey

New Port Richey owes it origins to Capt. Aaron Richey, after whom it is named. He was at the forefront of the local administration’s plan to survey the place in 1911, after which it was incorporated in 1924. New Port Richey is 30 miles southwest of Greater Tampa. From here, the Gulf of Mexico is at shouting distance. The Pithlachascotee River runs right into the city, which has a total area of just 4.6 miles for a total population of around 16,000. New Port Richey is noted for its vivaciousness. New Port Richey has a great cultural legacy that is signified by the fact of its being the site of many silent movies in the black and white era. Film stars Thomas Meighan, Gloria Swanson and Ed Wynn and author Pearl Buck are just some of the famous people to have toasted the city’s energetic nature. It is rich in the arena of sports, as well. New Port Richey is the alma mater to a host of swashbuckling teams such as NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning and the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It is also the hometown of NY Yankees; Toronto Blue Jays; Phillies and Devil Rays training. So, the tourist has not just entertainment; but variety as well, when on a visit to New Port Richey.

Tipping is welcome, but not demanded. As is the practice in Florida and everywhere else in the US, 15 percent tipping is standard.
