Milan Attractions and Activities

Milan is jam packed with several majestic architectural buildings. Sightseeing therefore is time consuming in Milan. Duomo must feature in your list of architectural sites. This marvelous creation flaunts the Gothic architectural pattern. Duomo is one of the largest European cathedrals and the intricate sculptures that adorn the massive structure nothing less than fascinating.

From the Duomo head towards the North West direction and enjoy two remarkable building the piazza Mercanti and the piazza Cordusio. If you follow further down this road you will find the impressive structures of Largo Cairoli and Piazza Castello. On this very road you will find the Castello Sforzesco. This is the palace of the original Milanese rulers. The palace was damaged in the bombings of the second world war but the building was restored after the war.

Behind this palace is the entrance of one of the beautiful parks of Milan known as the Parco Sempione. The ambience is ideal for relaxing. You can take a break among the most scenic shaded places in Milan and then saunter into the Museo della Triennale which is located in the premises of the park. Here an array for designer goods are on the display ranging from lamps, furniture, bags, clothes etc.

For lunch you can visit Brera. Here you will find a labyrinth of shops and restaurants. After lunch head of to the Piazza del Carmine and then continue further to the Pinacoteca di Brera which houses some of the 14th century work of arts by eminent artists like Caravaggio.

After leaving Pinacoteca di Brera follow the Brera and you will reach an impressive gallery known as the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele which has several coffee parlors and a very beautiful glass ceiling.

You can also pay a visit to the Santa Maria church which is also attracts a fair number of people.

Milan is home of many noted fashion designers and shops in Milan flaunt a vast collection fashion goods. You can here pick some interesting and fashionable items as souvenirs from Italy.

Milan has a very rich cultural legacy of performing art in the form of operas and performances happen regularly. You can spend an evening in one of the many opera houses of the region.
