Mellieha Bay is known for the largest sandy beach on the Island of Malta. Located on the north west coast of Malta, Mellieha Bay is a quiet and serene tourist resort. It is very near to St Paul's Bay which has developed and popular resorts like Bugibba and Qawra. Mellieha Bay is extremely beautiful with lovely countryside and scenic views of the sea. The smooth golden sands is ideal for building a sandcastle or just lying back and sunbathing. The bay is the best place for water-sports like wind surfing since the north easterly winds blow throughout the year. Children and young people would definitely love a banana ride or a pedalo ride. Mellieha Bay is a perfect place to bask in the Mediterranean sun and glory. Time off from work and away from the city cannot be spent in a more relaxing manner than here in Mellieha Bay.

General Etiquette in Mellieha Bay

Maltese are a friendly lot but tourists should be wary of being overcharged while shopping and even while using bus services. A tip of 10% is customary in taxis while a 15% tip is required in restaurants. Tipping is not usually practised in Mellieha Bay.
