Marsa Alam Restaurants and dining

If you are expecting the upscale, stylish restaurants and bars of Sharm el-Sheikh, Hurghada and TabaMarsa Alam will disappoint you. Although most 5, 4 and 3-star hotels have their own wining and dining facilities, and serve good quality, delicious food and drinks, downtown Marsa Alam can be a little depressing. On careful searching, you will come across the Cacio e Pepe restaurant serving Italian food and TGI Friday's serving American favorites, along with several small local eateries and bars. If you want authentic Egyptian cuisine, these quaint food joints are often very good. There is also a Pizza Hut outlet and the Fish Market restaurant is great for several seafood delicacies.
Tourists however, rarely visit downtown Marsa Alam, except perhaps to shop for souvenirs and Bedouin handicrafts.  Those craving typically posh and fashionable international cuisines will either stick to their hotel resorts or drive to the Port Ghalib marina, 5 minutes from Marsa Alam Airport, for a night of food, drinks, dance and music.
