Marsa Alam Holidays

Marsa Alam is located on the west coast of the Red Sea. Comparably smaller than the beach towns of Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada, Marsa Alam is like a little tropical paradise, tucked away somewhere between the Arabian Desert and the Red Sea. Complete with thick mangroves, swaying palm trees and colorful coral reefs, and unsullied, uncrowded beaches, Marsa Alam is the perfect spot to enjoy peace and rest.

Marsa Alam’s abundance of underwater treasures makes it a popular diving site for scuba divers. For many who venture into the Marsa Alam waters, they are rewarded with spectacular sightings of dugongs (sea cows), spinner dolphins, hammerhead sharks, sea turtles, bumphead parrotfish, and a variety of corals. Unlike the Sharm and Hurghada beach resorts, Marsa Alam is less crowded. This makes the underwater experience at Marsa Alam a notch more wonderful, sans the possibility of bumping into other divers all the time.
The water temperatures at summer are usually close to 30°C, giving it idyllic warmth for hours of swimming and diving. Water temperatures in January stay a comfortable 24°C, rarely going below 22°C. Be aware that your underwater visibility in April and May could be affected by the seasonal plankton. Also, if you are a novice, the high wind speed and rough seas in December, January and February may not render the sea safe for diving.
