Maritim Hotel Attractions and Activities

•    Port Louis - Port Louis is the capital city of Mauritius and is the main harbour of the island country. The Jummah Mosque, which is the most beautiful religious building in the country and the Le chateau de Reduit, a colonial style building built for French governors and the current official home of the President, are some of the main attractions in Port Loius. Apart from these, there is the Le Caudan Waterfront fairytale amusement park and the Blue Penny Stamp museum.
•    Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanic Garden or what is commonly known as the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, is a beautiful property, home to a number of exotic species of plants. The garden is also home to a beautiful colonial villa, which is the home of the park’s director.
•    Grand Bassin, a small lake in Mauritius, is a sacred Hindu spot and the water of this lake is considered as sacred as the water of Ganges. The lake is situated in an extinct volcano and is surrounded by various temples.

•    The ‘Domaine Les Pailles' open-air museum, is constructed like an 18th century sugar estate and is a great place to visit. Holiday makers can experience horse drawn Victorian style carriages or a small toy train and can see the traditional local extraction process of sugar.

•    A great place to visit is the Souillac port village, which is home to several colonial buildings. There are several yachts harboured at the port and the famous Rochester falls are also located in the village.  

•    The Cascade Chamarel is the highest waterfall of the island and is a popular spot for holiday makers. Another great place to visit is the Terres des Couleurs, a place where the earth changes colour several times a day.

Some of the other attractions in Mauritius are the Black River Gorges National Park, the Grand Bay – with all its nightlife and stores, Blue Bay - a marine park ideal for diving and snorkelling and Île aux Cerfs, a beautiful blue lagoon which is ideal for different water sports.
