Malta Attractions and Activities

The natural and scenic beauty of Malta complements its splendid past. Many beautiful palaces, museums, forts and megaliths are examples of Malta’s glorious heritage. Another two famous caves in Malta are Ghar Dalam and Ghar Hasan. The Megalithic Monument dates back to Neolithic Age. Blue Grotto is one of the best sights to explore a bright and colorful marine life. The Museum of Roman Antiquities, Buskett Garden, and Verdala Castle attract many tourists. The incredible Gran Castello, Calypso's Cave, and alabaster caves are other breathtaking attraction in Malta.

The beautiful City of Valletta is the capital of Malta. A world heritage site, this culturally significant township was built 500 years ago. The city is abuzz with museums, galleries, palaces, and places of extreme interest, such as fortifications, bastions, interesting little places to look at and bars. The St. John’s Cathedral, the Armory, and Museum of Fine Arts are most important attractions in the city. Mdina, another charming city of Malta, is famous for its Cathedral Museum, which houses a vibrant collection of paintings, fossils, and woodworks. Sliema and St Julian's boast hotels, apartments, restaurants, bars, shops, clubs, discotheques, and casinos.

The coast of Malta has many beach resorts. Bugibba and Qawra, two original fishing villages, now offer finest tourist facilities. Mellieha and Golden Bay have popular sandy beaches. Tourists visiting Malta can enjoy a wealth of activities, such as golf, tennis, cycling, paragliding, and hiking. The coast is a perfect destination for scuba diving, yachting and sailing. Most beaches and lidos are complete with facilities for banana boat rides, jet-skiing, canoeing, water skiing, wave sailing, and windsurfing. Malta regularly hosts international windsurfing contests.
