Malgrat de Mar is a Mediterranean town in the Comarca of the Maresme in Catalonia. This Spanish town is located 38 miles north of Barcelona and 28 miles south of Gerona. Situated on the coast between Santa Susanna and Selva, the town is also well connected with Blanes, Lloret de Mar and Tossa de Mar.  Earlier known as Vilanova de Palafolls in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, Malgrat de Mar’s primary inhabitants built their homes on the hill of El Castell which is situated in the middle of Malgrat de Mar.
Malgrat holidays revolve around the sandy beaches of the town that is segregated into diminutive bays by rocks. The town has a beautiful and tranquil promenade, hemmed with ample of bars and restaurants that are pocket friendly, Malgrat de Mar is the ideal place to relax and soothe your senses. The place is also known for its Catalan cuisine and is well lined with restaurants in the old town’s square with attractive gardens bordering it.
