Loule, a busy town of Portugal’s Algrave, is steeped in history with awesome architecture, churches and ruins of 12th century Arab castle providing visitors an insight into its Moorish and Roman origins. This bustling market town is surrounded by lush country side and luxury resorts along the coastline, twenty minutes away. Loule is one of the largest inland towns of Algrave. The Saturday Market of Loule is very famous as it houses stalls of various traders and sell variety of items.

Lively Loule

Loule is a vibrant town with its markets and other historical landmarks. This town with a resident strength of 20,000 thrives on tourism and copper, wood, cane and leather product manufacturing. Tourists to Loule can attend the weekly fair to procure the handicraft souvenirs. The annual Carnival of Loule in February is another major event which attracts tourists. Loule has some interesting monuments for tourists to explore. Tourists can enjoy a colourful nightlife in Loule thanks to a multitude of bars, night clubs and restaurants nearby. Apart from sports, golf and other water sports are activities for tourists to get involved for a memorable holiday. French is the second language spoken here.  

In Loule tipping is important though service charge is not included in hotel and restaurant bills. A 10% on bill amount in restaurants and a €1-2 tip to bellhops in hotels are ideal. Portuguese language and people are very polite so snapping fingers or shouting at staff is considered rude.
