Las Palmas is a vibrant city, Spanish in character and cosmopolitan in nature, a quality well reflected in its many traditional and international restaurants, bars, pubs and cafes. From tapas-bars to English style food joints and giant shopping arcades with self-catering services, Las Palmas has options aplenty for food lovers.

There are numerous moderately priced restaurants in Las Palmas, including several 4 and 5-star restaurants and hundreds of budget options. The Old Town square area is Las Palmas’ historic centre and has a number of good eateries around the area. The district of Vegueta enjoys a lively nightlife and weekends are usually filled with swarms of tourists in its bars and discos. Around the Las Palmas port, especially in Santa Catalina, there are a couple of excellent seafood restaurants, pubs and nightclubs.

During January and February, Las Palmas hosts the Carnival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and there are a number of activities to enjoy, including special menus and unique dishes at restaurants.
