Tourism is not primary in La Gomera, a fact that makes it unbelievably popular with visitors seeking a bit of calm, just the right amount of fun, and quality time with self. If you are well into adventure and the prospect of calm seaside evenings does little to deter you, La Gomera is possibly the best place to spend a couple of days.
La Gomera is divided into 6 municipalities: Agulo, Alajeró, San Sebastián de la Gomera, Hermigua, Valle Gran Rey, and Vallehermoso, which have few very good hotels. The majority of accommodations are concentrated in San Sebastian (La Gomera capital), and the Playa Santiago village in the south of the island.
Soft beaches, safe waters and a volley of reasonably priced apartments make San Sebastian and Playa Santiago the hub of holidaymakers visiting La Gomera. Top recommended hotels are:
Parador de la Gomera – Located in San Sebastian, this four-star, cliff-top accommodation offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic and the island. Excellent sun terrace, swimming pool and Spanish restaurants combined, Parador is one of the best that La Gomera has to offer.
Hotel Jardin Tecina – This 4-star accommodation in Playa Santiago is perfect for vacationers who enjoy sea views over a la carte food, great interiors, stylish pools, and high-quality amenities and service.
Hotel El Paso Suite – El Paso’s most attractive quality is its near proximity to the Garanojay National Park. That apart, this 4-star hotel has a welcoming charm, is more compact and gives a homely feel.
If you are looking for value-for-money stay and service, on the recommendation list is the 3-star Torre del Conde and Solvasa Hotel Laurisilva Apartments, and the 2-star Garajonay Hotel.
