Kyrenia has many beautiful beaches, some of which are crowded and some secluded, offering plenty of quiet and peace.
The Acapulco holiday village is Kyrenia’s vacation hot-spot. Perfect for families, honeymooners and groups of travelers, the Acapulco offers a wide range of accommodation choices. The Acapulco beach, along with the Escape beach, also has excellent water sport facilities, including numerous clubs, restaurants and bars. A 15 minute walk from Acapulco will bring you to the Vogue Beach Club. The Club is popular as an 18-30 tourist venue. There is a Jacuzzi, a large pool, one fantastic restaurant, an ice-cream bar, and facilities for water skiing, sailing, surfing and diving.
If you are in Kyrenia with young children, the Altinkaya beach is a lovely place to be. The sea here is shallow due to the miniscule Golden Rock Island. Along the beach, there are plenty of family-oriented hotels and resorts, including restaurants and cafes. Children will also enjoy the Lara beach, located a few minutes away.
The beach in Alsancak, known as Denizkızı, is owned by the hotel of the same name. Although you may not be staying at this hotel, for a minimal fee, you are allowed to use the hotel’s swimming pool and other amenities.
The pebbly Horseshoe beach is recommended for sunbathing. The beach here is not sandy, so you needn’t worry about sand sticking to your back. Also, there are some wonderful historical sites near the beach. A short walk will take you to the Mediterranean’s only Persian palace, located at Vouni, east of Kyrenia.
