Javea Holidays

The city of Javea is a beautiful place in Spain. It is situated 80 km north east of Alicante, in between Denia and Altea. This city is surrounded by city walls, like many other areas on the Spanish coast in order to protect the city from Barbary pirates. There are many restaurants and bars at Avendia del Mediterraneo which run along the Javea harbour.

This place is ideal for a perfect holiday as it s a pretty holiday resort town set between the capes of San Antonio and La Nao. The blue Mediterranean sea, backed by the colonial Mount Montgo, the narrow streets of the historic town is really fabulous to look at. One would find that the surrounding development has been carefully controlled and there is no high rise modern building. The old town has maintained its serenity on the beautiful landscape.

There are number of beautiful places in Javea which attracts tourists.
Sant Antoni Marine Reserve situated on the coast, between Javea and Denia has a lot of rocky cliffs. The cliffs here rise over 150 meters high and they form the outer limits of Montgo Natural Park.
The Port dates back to 1871 and the first pier were used to ship out raisins for export. The fishing port has about 20 fishing boats and one can find the fish auction taking place in the evening at the docks warehouse. There are attractive harbours along the Mediterranean.
El Arenal beach is very sandy and has shallow waters. There are lots of restaurants and bars found here. This is the busiest beach of Javea.
Playa arena is a beach of soft white sand which fronts the promenade. This place becomes busy especially in the evening with stalls, cafés restaurants and bars located here.
La Grava is a shingle beach located near the port in front of the town and has lots of restaurants and bars. There is a tourist information point near by.
Ambolo is a Pebble cove and situated to the south of Cap de la Nau. This place is near the mainland and the island of Ibiza. This place is mostly used by naturists. The other places of interest are Cala Blanca, La Barraca O Portitxol and La Granadella.
The church Iglesia de San Bartolome built in the 12th century is a good example of late gothic and is a beautiful place to visit.
Museum Soler Blasco in the Calle Primicias is a wonderful museum displaying the copy of the treasury of Javea, which consists of jewelry from olden centuries.
Cabo de San Martin is a lovely place and one can walk up a path from Javea harbour to reach the place.
One can view beautiful sights from the lighthouse at Cabo de Nao.
The old part of the town is very interesting to watch. The place has typical whitewashed houses as old as the 18ht century. There are lovely carved window and door frames from sandstone blocks and are worth watching.
There is a beautiful church of Santa maria de Loreto near the port zone. The roof of the church has the shape of a ship’s hull.
There are various architectural sites following the road to the San Antonio cape. These are the monastery of Nuestra Senora de los Angeles, a row of hermitages and many ancient windmills.
The Arena area is the main tourist attraction with a lot of palm trees and bars and restaurants. 

The people have a practice of giving tips at restaurants, hotels, to taxi drivers and so on. The tip ranges from 5% to 10%. There are no added service charges on the total bill.
