Hurghada is a prime tourist destination in Egypt, served by the Hurghada international and domestic airports. Most major airlines in the Middle East and Europe run scheduled flights to Hurghada, without stopovers at Cairo. Upon arrival, tourist Visas can be obtained from the airport bank, unless already included in the travel package. In some cases, Visas can also be applied to from the local embassy. Visas are usually valid for 30 days, but can be prolonged on extra payment at the Visa office in El Dahar.
From Cairo, Sharm-El Sheikh, Luxor, Alexandria, Assiut and Aswan, the domestic EgyptAir Express (a subsidiary of EgyptAir) has weekly scheduled flights to Hurghada.
If you are already in Cairo, you can reach Hurghada by bus in approximately 7 hours (Super Jet bus line). Intercity bus services from and to El Dahar, Sinai, and Luxor are also available. By boat, it takes approximately 3 hours to reach Hurghada from Sinai on the National Fast Ferry service.
In and around Hurghada, you can avail the Minibus, or rent cars for transportation.
