Gran Canaria Weather

One of the best things about Gran Canaria is its weather. Constant sunshine and year-round warm climate makes it ideal for sun-bathers. Average winter daytime temperatures rarely fall below 20°C, although nights are cold and 10°C and lower temperatures are not unknown in the coastal regions. There may also be occasional frost or snow in the mountain regions, despite inland temperatures remaining comparably mild.

Daytime temperatures in summer is usually a comfortable 26°C, but can often rise to 38°C fanned by the southeasterly Saharan winds. Fortunately, such conditions never last long.

Maximum rainfall occurs in April and October, with July to September being the driest months, and possibly the best time to visit. South Gran Canaria receives more sunshine than the north and is the preferred spot for tourists.
