Gambia has a sub-tropical climate and its dry season starts in October and lasts till June. Average daytime temperatures hover around 32°C and around 25°C along the coastal resorts. The rainy season lasts from mid June to mid October.

By far the best time to go on Gambia holidays is November-February when the days are dry and cool, and dusty “Harmattan” winds are in full force. Most people go on holidays to Gambia from October to April while anglers and birdwatchers prefer August and other rainy months when the lands become green and wildlife is at its richest, and Gambian hotels too are at their cheapest at this time.
