Galle Weather

Galle witnesses the most number of tourists between December and March. Temperature during winter and spring range between 25 and 29C and the period is the driest in Galle. Sunshine lasts 6 to 7 hours daily, so sun seekers will have plenty of time to work up the desired tan. There is some rain between January and February. However, at just 100mm and quick showers, there is hardly enough downpour to dampen the spirit of adventure. In retrospect, Galle’s seacoast is even more beautiful after a little rain.

Galle summers are hot and humid, August and September being the wettest months. Monsoons mean overcast skies, and although on days the weather is refreshing, humid conditions prevail for the most part.
