The Fuencaliente coast is covered with black sand and consists of several small beaches and coves. The most famous of these beaches is the La Zamora, a fairly secluded area with pebbled sand beaches and tranquil surroundings. The beaches of Punta Largo, El Faro and Playa Nueva are also wonderful picks for complete relaxation.
Fuencaliente is located on the sunniest tip of La Palma. The south receives year-round bright sunshine and enjoys a sub-tropical climate. The waters are one of the best in La Palma and home to caverns with stunning black corals and various species of fish that makes it a fantastic scuba-diving site.
The Fuencaliente coast is marked by the white and red striped lighthouse that overlooks the main town. Fuencaliente town is lined with traditional Canarian houses, cobbled streets and attractive squares, and is famous for the local ‘Bodegas’ winery.
