The Island has several great gastronomic delights that for the most part don’t stray far from Azorean traditions. You will relish lobsters, cavaco, caldeirada (fish stew), torresmos de vinha-de-alhos (that’s bacon made with garlic & wine), arroz de lapas (limpets with rice) and excellent cheeses prepared locally on holidays to Faial. Vegetarian cuisine isn’t the most exciting though.
Peter Café Sport e Museu de Scrimshaw – Internationally acclaimed among seafarers and all visitors on holidays to Faial, Peter Café and Scrimshaw museum are worth a visit to soak in the great atmosphere.
Barão Palace is a bar and night club at Rua José Fialho.
Centro do Mar OMA – Bar and Museum at Monte da Guia
Restaurante Mini Golf Ilha Azul – Play mini-golf at this fine restaurant on your holidays to Faial.
