Faial has one of the busiest Azorean airports as well as regular ferries to Pico and São Jorge. Others ways of getting around on holidays to Faial include -

Buses- Buses are available but do not ply often enough to be of much use to tourists on holidays to Faial. You can expect buses 2 or 3 times on weekdays, but they aren’t the best way to explore the island’s beauty.
Bicycle- The rugged terrain makes it tough so it’s best to use an all terrain or mountain bike on Faial holidays. However, the trips are great with high marks for adventure. Also remember that there are no separate lanes for bikers!
Cars – Renting cars is not inexpensive but certainly a great way to explore the island at your own pace on Faial holidays. Infact, drivers on the island can also act as great tourist guides.
Walking is a great way to explore many of the island’s splendid spots.
