Durban Restaurants and dining

Durban city and the beaches along the coastline are both venues at which you can enjoy international dining. The harbor area is the cosmopolitan hub of the city. Plenty of waterside restaurants, bars and cafes along the Wilson’s Wharf are where you will find the best of South African ethnic cuisine. Tempting international menus are also offered, along with American fast-food menus.

Durban’s Indian District brings to life the exotic India with its Indian markets, shops, mosques and temples. The Juma Mosque is the biggest mosque in the Southern Hemisphere and around it, there is a shopping arcade offering Eastern goods, jewelry, clothes and accessories, besides a handful of excellent Indian restaurants. The Grey Street is the hub of Indian spicy food eateries, including Indian shops, and usually great if you want to pick up souvenirs for home.

Durban nightlife is as you would expect from any major city – animated, lively and often boisterous.
