This includes spending 4 nights in Havana, which can be used as 2 nights in Havana and 2 nights in Vinales or Varadero if the guests so desire, and again spending the last night back in Havana. The tour allows you to satiate the explorer in you by letting yourself discover a lesser known side of Cuba. An English speaking guide can also be arranged to assist you in your voyage of discovery.
Day 1
On your arrival in Havana you are privately escorted to your hotel in Old Havana on B&B basis (Hostal Valencia or an equivalent category)
Days 2 to 4 – Explore Havana at leisure
Welcome to three days of fun and frolic in Havana. When in Havana, a visit to Finca Vigia (Hemingway's mansion) or Playas del Este is a must for any tourist.
Overnight accommodation at Hostal Valencia or an equivalent category on B&B basis.
Day 5: Havana - Holguin
In the morning, guests are escorted to Havana Airport for boarding the internal flight to Holguin.
On arrival at Holguin Airport, the guests receive a grand welcome and are then escorted to the nearby Holguin Hotel where the rest of the day is spent relaxing and enjoying Holguin on their own. At night, they stay at Hotel El Bosque or Pernik Hotel on B&B basis.
Day 6 - Holguin - Cayo Saetia - Baracoa
In the morning, after enjoying a hearty breakfast, guests attend a brief orientation tour wherein they are acquainted with Holguin. The city is widely acclaimed for its many serene and tree-lined squares. After this, the tour moves on to Cayo Saetia. The tour makes a little stop at this colourful former private game reserve where guests can enjoy swimming and relax on the pristine white sands of the beach. Guests can explore the jungle in a jeep safari watching zebras, antelopes and deer in their natural surroundings and later on treat on a sumptuous local Cuban style lunch. After noon, the tour proceeds to Baracoa. The ambience becomes more charming and intriguing as we arrive at the Humbolt National Park. Guests can purchase and enjoy local delicacies like homemade sweets and drinks on the way as well. Later in the day, we approach Baracoa, a picturesque small town encircled by natural beauty on all sides. There is an orientation tour of Baracoa. Guests can also visit “Malecon”, the graceful promenade of Baracoa, overlooking the sea. Delicious dinner is arranged and overnight stay is at the Hotel Villa Baracoa or equivalent category.
Day 7 - Cuba - Off The Beaten Track
After having a filling breakfast, guests are given a glimpse of life in the countryside of Cuba by touring Finca Duaba. It is a conventional Cuban farm with natural tropical beauty spread on all sides. Later, the tour moves to Rio Toa Cuba’s widest river which cuts through a reserve declared as a “UNESCO Protected Site”. A delicious lunch awaits the guests at the reserve which they can enjoy after taking a short boat trip up the river. Late in the day, the trip returns to Baracoa for relaxing and enjoying dinner. The evening is spent exploring the wonderful night life of Baracoa.
Day 8 - Baracoa - Guantanamo - Cayo Granma Island - Santiago de Cuba
At the break of dawn, the tour leaves and heads towards Guantanamo, a distinctive Cuban town adjacent to the naval base. En route guests can witness the unparalleled beauty of mountains, the greenery of swaying palms and the tranquillity of calm Cuban towns. Upon reaching Guantanamo, guests attend a short orientation tour along with refreshments before heading towards Santiago de Cuba. The lunch is organized at Cayo Granma which is reached by a short boat along the bay. Guests can explore the charm of the little island, after which they head towards the heart of the city to check-in at the 5-Star Melia Santiago De Cuba Hotel. Dinner at the Hotel consists of Cuban flavours and international cuisines.
Day 9 - Santiago de Cuba & Church of El Cobre
Next day, the guests wake up to enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel and then explore the sights and sounds of the city that has defined the culture and history of Cuba. The trip includes visiting Moncada Barracks followed by central square Parque Cespedes and Calle Heredia which is the busiest street of the city, and Padre Pico Street which is known for the board game of draught, a major hit with the local population. As the day progresses, the tour moves to Castillo del Morro, a fortress set deep in history, with magnificent views of the Caribbean Sea and the surrounding Sierra Maestra Mountains. Lunch is served in conventional Cuban style in a restaurant adjacent to the fortress overlooking the natural beauty of the coastal region. Post lunch, the trip moves to El Cobre, a breathtakingly beautiful church which is the most consecrated pilgrimage site of Cuba and a shrine to the Virgin Mary. nbsp; The evening includes dinner in a nearby restaurant and guests can go and enjoy live Cuban music at the ever-popular “Casa de la Trova”.
Day 10 - Gran Piedra National Park - Full Day
The new day includes a visit to the mountainous terrain of Gran Piedra National Park, on the outskirts of the city. The path to the destination, which is located at height of 1200 meters above the sea level, is flanked by nature’s bounties on all sides. The road to the top keeps twisting and turning like a giant serpent, passing next to ‘The Big Rock’, a relic of an ancient boulder. If the weather allows, guests can even catch a glimpse of Jamaica and Haiti from the top. Guests reach with sufficient time in hand to soak in the beautiful views and rich vegetation on the top before settling down for enjoying lunch at a local restaurant. Post lunch, the tour returns back to the city for relaxation and dinner at the hotel.
Day 11 - Santiago de Cuba - Havana
It’s time now to bid adieu and head back to Havana wishing goodbye to the guide at the airport. In Havana, guests are escorted back to the hotel, either Hostal Valencia or equivalent category on B&B basis.
Day 12 - End of the Tour
Leisure time in the morning before moving on to the International airport of Havana for catching the flight back home.
