Colombo Weather

December to March is the best time to visit Colombo. Winter and spring in Sri Lanka is very unlike those of the Western countries, and instead of cold, biting winds, travelers are greeted by 6 hours of warm sunshine and pleasant weather. Colombo summer temperatures vary between 30 to 32C with 8 to 9 hours of bright sunshine between April and October. The sea temperature usually hovers on 28C during these months. With the exception of May, September, October and November, when there’s about 382, 236, 371 and 306mm of rainfall respectively, and overcast skies, Colombo weather is generally hot and sunny.
