Clearwater Beach

The Clearwater beach is famous all over the world. On the white sands of the Clearwater beach, you can also enjoy a morning job or a pleasurable stroll. The beach is three mile long and is dotted with luxury resorts and condominiums. Since the beaches are public, they can be accessed freely by anyone, from anywhere. The sunsets at Clearwater are picturesque and therefore extremely famous. Strolling at the beach, you may even chance upon an occasional dolphin.

At the docks of the Clearwater Marina, you can also fish for big game. You can charter a fishing boat and go on a fishing excursion. You can also hire a party boat and party on the bay for as long as you want.

You can also enjoy a ride on a ‘little toot’, small boats on which you can have an exhilarating ride around the picturesque Gulf of Mexico. At the Clearwater, you can charter different types of sail boats. Here you can also learn sailing or host a wedding feast on one of the boats. At night, you can enjoy a dinner cruise, sampling some of the great cuisines that are on offer or you can get aboard the Captain Memo’s Pirate Cruise where you can get a more intimate experience of the Pirate culture and lifestyle.

When at the beach there are also other water sports and games that you can participate in. You can enjoy jet skiing and wind surfing at the beach.

Tourism in Clearwater

Since tourism remains the number one industry in Clearwater, the city pays a lot of attention to the local attractions. At Clearwater, tourists can visit Derby Lane, which is the home of the fastest Greyhounds in the world. Tourists can bet on these races in person and online too.

For those who enjoy gambling, Clearwater also offers the Seminole Indian Hard Rock Casino, which is made in the authentic Indian style.

While at Clearwater, you can visit the Clearwater Marine Aquarium that houses the rescued sea turtles. A famous attraction here is ‘Winter’, the dolphin who lost its tail in an accident and has been given a prosthetic tail. The aquarium also features live dolphin shows which are attended by children and adults alike. There are special kayaking and boat rode adventures for those who are interested.

In the downtown area, tourists can shop around from the fresh produce in the old fashioned Farmer’s Market. This market not only stocks fresh produce, but also art and craft, baked specialties and entertainment.

A special trail, known as the Pinellas trail runs through the Clearwater city. This trail is special because all kinds of vehicles, except those run by motor, can ply here. This trail is used by joggers, skaters and bikers.

There are several volleyball tournaments that take place throughout the year at the Clearwater Beach. For those who enjoy a good game of volleyball, the tournaments are a perfect chance to participate. Those who just enjoy the game but do not want to play can also come and cheer their favorite teams.

At the northern most tip of the Clearwater Beach lies the Caladesi Island. This is a state park and is only accessible through water. Both ferries and private boats sail around to reach this state park. Around the time of low tide, you can even travel to the island on foot. Here, you can find miles of hiking tails and a beautiful beach. This is a perfect place for a romantic picnic or a few hours of reading in solitude.

About twenty minutes north from the Clearwater city, lay the Tarpon Springs. Here, you can visit an authentic Greek fishing and sponge diving village. In the village, you can also find authentic Greek foods, exhibitions of sponges retrieved from various diving expeditions, shops of authentic Greek artifacts and curios.

For those tourists who want to pamper themselves, there are plenty of spas and relaxation centers where you can relax for an entire day, while pampering your body.

Shopping at Clearwater

Clearwater has many different shops that cater to the shopaholics. Here, you can find variety of unique clothing items of both men and women – especially swim wear. Clearwater is also famous for the jewelery shops and shops offering beach paraphernalia. The various resorts have their own gift shops, however, there are also several different souvenir shops in the city where tourists can pick up gifts to remember their holidays.
