Cesena is a commune which is triangularly placed between Forli, the south of Ravenna and west of Rimini on the Savio River. It comes under the region of Emilia Romagna in northern Italy and lies at the foot of Apennines Mountains. Earlier known as Caesena, the Romans took over in the third century BC. Cesena’s history is of great significance. Due to heavy bombings in the World War II, Cesena being near the Gothic Line suffered a lot, however, in 1992, the town was crowned as the Co Capital of the Province. Some notable people of Cesena are Roberto Benigni, filmmaker; Nicoletta Braschi, actor; Pope Pius VII. The economy of Cesena rests on tourism, agriculture and handicrafts which also makes the town a good holiday destination.

General Etiquette
It is not only for Cesena but stands for the whole of Italy- tipping. Tipping to cab drivers or hotel porters is recommended. Also, whenever you pay either by cash or any other kind, make sure you keep the receipt safely. Since Cesena is a true Italian town, people here are courteous and friendly but mainly speak in Italian. The second language that dominates in Cesena is English. A small advice- you can ask your guide or a local, “Parla Inglese?” which means Do you speak English and the best thing to do is learn basic Italian.
