La Palma enjoys a distinctively Mediterranean cuisine that is non-spicy and non-fatty, cooked in traditional Canarian style. Brena Baja reflects mainland Spanish and indigenous tastes through a wide range of seafood, meat and vegetable preparations, accompanied by Spanish beer or Canarian wine, flavored cheeses and spicy sauces.

Most restaurants in Brena Baja are concentrated in the coastal area and the resort town of Los Cancajos. Cancajos is also Brena Baja’s party zone, and has several nightclubs and pubs that serve excellent fish and pork snacks, cool cocktails, light mocktails and heady drinks.

Off the coast, the Brena Baja municipality has several inexpensive local eateries and bars around the market places, including some stop-over joints along the hike trails and around nature parks.
