Bodufinolhu, commonly known as Fun Island is one of the 50 islands which make up Baa Atoll. Out of the 50 islands of Baa Atoll, only 13 are inhabited. The Bodufinolhu resort is situated on the south eastern reef of the South Malé Atoll. The Bodufinolhu resort was opened in 1988. It is 720m long and 150m wide. An excellent location for diving, this island attracts divers from all over the world. Bodufinolhu is surrounded by white sandy beaches. A massive translucent lagoon surrounds the island, giving the island a vibrant blend of turquoise and crimson.
Bodufinolhu is a diver’s paradise. The massive lagoon is surrounded by a coral reef which consists of exotic marine life such as barracuda and marine sharks. The island is covered by lush green tropical greenery and coconut palm trees. Bodufinolhu has unspoiled white sandy beaches surrounded by a submerged reef, making it a perfect location for sun bathing and swimming. The vast sandy bank is 2,600 ft long and 100 ft wide. The beauty of Bodufinolhu is enhanced by the two uninhabited islets set across the channel. These two uninhabited islets can be reached by crossing the lagoon on foot. The island of Thulhadhoo can be reached by foot in around 15 minutes, at low tide.
