From Oriental, Continental and European cuisines to Sri Lankan and Indian delicacies and seafood, a wide range of dishes can be found. Tourists can hop to the beach restaurants for the freshest fish, crabs, lobsters, and prawns. Small Sri Lankan meals can also be enjoyed at the bars, and generally most street food stalls and eateries in Beruwela town. Delicious Indian curries are also available. Considering the variety and the availability of food, Beruwela is one of the best places to dine and enjoy unforgettable sunsets over the Indian Ocean.

Beruwela enjoys a lively nightlife. Discos along the beach and in town invite large tourist and local crowds, respectively.  There are plenty of places that keep open till late at night, although after-midnight parties are unheard of, except perhaps in the resort hotels and on special occasions.
