Algarve Weather

It won’t be an exaggeration to say that Algarve holidays enjoy one of the most suitable climates in Europe, with long dry summers and mild winters, which are perfect for attracting huge number of tourists every year. Sitting besides the mighty Atlantic, Algarve is blessed with 3,000 hours of sunshine annually or 12 hours of sunshine every day. Being such a sun-blessed place, Algarve holidays offer ideal conditions for sunbathing.  The proximity of Algarve to the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea keeps the weather pleasant and makes it a perfect year-round tourist hotspot.

Summer temperatures can reach as high as 30 degrees Celsius in Algarve, with the average for July and August being 27-28 degrees Celsius. The high temperatures are kept down by the soothing winds. Temperatures during spring and autumn months reach a pleasant 17-19 degrees Celsius – in fact, it is the best time for Algarve holidays. During the winter months, temperatures hover around 15 degrees Celsius, with 6 hours of sunshine every day. Algarve gets 50 days of rainfall in a year. In totality, Algarve holidays are ideal throughout the year though many may prefer the low temperature months.
