When you think of holidays in Spain, it is hard to decide where to begin. Spain’s rich and eventful history has seen it ruled by Romans, Greeks and Celts among other dynasties. Recently Spain overcame fascism and a civil war in the 20th century to emerge as a democratic state in 1978. It became a member of the European Union in 1986. 

Majority of Spain’s 45 million population is Roman Catholic. The official language is Castilian Spanish although you may hear some Catalan, Galician or Basque during your Spain holidays. Spain’s currency is Euro and the current exchange rates are 1 GBP = 1.13 Euro.
