Bare-chested men are frowned upon here, so please comply with the local dress code when on holidays in Dubai. Bikinis and normal swim wear may however be worn on beaches. When entering the country on a holiday to Dubai, do remember that alcohol can be purchased at a duty free shop, but requires a license at all places except bars, restaurants and clubs in hotels. Ensure that your travel insurance fully covers you for medical treatment on Dubai holidays since treatment and hospitalisation can add up to a considerable amount. The city follows a Zero Tolerance policy on drug offences and drinking and driving. Please be advised that in case of a road accident on your holidays to Dubai, even possession of alcohol may be considered driving under influence.
